Andamur is strengthening its commitment to sustainability by reducing its carbon footprint

We have more than 1,400 solar panels in 9 locations and have managed to reduce our carbon footprint by 212.31 tonnes of CO2 in recent years

At Andamur, we’re aware that doing our bit for sustainable development is of the utmost importance, which is why we’re continually on the lookout for initiatives and actions that help us cut down on our carbon footprint as much as possible. In 2022, we increased the number of photovoltaic panels in our network of service areas by 500 panels which, on top of those already installed, come to a total of 1,400 devices that  prevent the emission of 212.31 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. We’re strengthening our strategy to generate a low carbon footprint.

In this regard, it’s worth pointing out that, in 2023, we plan to install 300 more panels with a view to gradually making progress on our journey towards the much needed and coveted sustainability.

However, our commitment goes even further; because, for years, all the energy our company has consumed has come from a company that obtains its energy from renewable sources that has been awarded the highest certification – label A – from The National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), on the environmentally friendly origin of the electricity. In this regard, Andamur is committed to getting all its energy from renewable sources.

What’s more, we also endeavour to bring new energy solutions closer to our customers, making sustainable and multi-energy areas available through strategic alliances with companies such as Endesa X Way, which have helped to create ultra-fast recharging electricity hubs at our Guarromán Service Areas in Jaén and in La Junquera, Girona. Not to mention other recharging facilities in San Román in Álava and Pamplona, Navarre. In 2023, additional charging points will be installed across our other Service Areas.

To sum up, energy transition is at the top of our list of priorities; we do our bit to achieve the objective of a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions while achieving 30% self-consumption by 2024, aligning ourselves with Law 7/2021, on Climate Change and Energy Transition, with a view to effectively complying with actions that foster sustainable development, champion sustainable projects that respect the environment and improve energy efficiency, striving to consolidate our plans for energy efficiency, energy savings and rolling out renewable energies throughout the entire company.
